Sono passati 50 anni dal 1969 in cui è nata Arpanet il precursore di Internet e in 50 anni la Rete delle Reti ha cambiato il mondo. Arpanet è stato un progetto ideato in pieno periodo di Guerra Fredda, che si è poi trasformato in un importante strumento di crescita pacifica per il mondo civile. In Europa Internet è arrivata in una seconda fase. In Italia è stato creato il GARR con l’obiettivo di creare una rete delle reti universitarie.
